Services We Offer

Dual Diagnosis
Art Therapy
Art therapy provides you with an array of tools for creative expression, such as: painting, collage making, drawing, sculpting, jewelry making, and pottery. You will participate in art therapy groups, open studio times, as well as individual sessions.

Mental Health
Music Therapy
Music is very therapeutic in the healing process. At John Ellison Community Recover Center, you will be participating in music therapy groups. Through lyric analysis, drumming, song writing, imagery, and relaxation, music therapy promotes wellness, helps manage stress, provides a creative way to express emotions, and helps improve communication. Our Music Therapist will engage and assess clients in each session and modify goals as needed. No musical skill is needed. The music therapy room is a safe space for expression and improvisation.

Mental Health
Recreational Therapy
John Ellison Community Recover Center has a wide variety of recreational activities and opportunities. During recreation therapy groups, you will be provided the opportunity to discuss the importance of leisure in treatment, learn different coping skills, and learn ways to overcome barriers to engaging in leisure activities. Recreation, physical fitness, and learning healthy leisure activities is a critical aspect of holistic healthcare and John Ellison Community Recovery Center is committed to incorporating these activities throughout your treatment at all levels of programming.
Our Programs

Intensive Outpatient Treatment
We offer flexible treatment schedule to accommodate your need for family, work, and school time, and your need to work on your recovery. Our schedule includes two-day programs and one evening program operating Monday to Thursday 9 am-9 pm.
Participants receive 12 weeks of skills-based group counseling sessions along with one individual therapy session weekly.

Out Patient
Our clients are encouraged to explore their individual growth needs and to discover new and more adaptive ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.
We strive to fulfill our mission by working with people to contribute to their personal growth, helping them learn more about themselves as unique individuals and leading them toward more productive and fulfilling lives.
Outpatient services maybe suitable for you. We develop an individual treatment plan to help those recover in areas such as trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, PTSD, personality disorder and bipolar disorder.

Aftercare
What sets us apart? After 12 weeks of intensive outpatient treatment. We offer extensive support for after care. Aftercare is far from an “afterthought” – it’s one of the most important stages of the rehab process.
Technically, aftercare begins once you’ve completed a recovery program and are ready to make the transition back to your community. In reality, the aftercare phase of recovery begins from the time you enter treatment.
Even as you go through detox and rehab, your treatment team will work on identifying the tools and skills that you’ll need to be successful after you finish the program.
Our Sessions

Group Counseling
Your treatment will primarily consist of group therapy and educational meetings. Groups are led by our licensed therapists.
As recovery requires active and consistent personal involvement in treatment, you are strongly encouraged to participate in all groups and activities.
The clinical model used at John Ellison Community Recover Center was created to provide both traditional psychotherapeutic treatment interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as a full range of adjunctive therapies such as music therapy, art therapy, recreation therapy, health and wellness education, and mindfulness. All psychotherapeutic models have a strong evidence-base that supports their effectiveness for a variety of psychiatric illnesses.

Individual Counseling
To effectively treat a client and their addiction, we must truly get to know them. Our staff of counselors, medical personnel and recovery professionals spend extensive time learning not only about an individual’s substance abuse but also the traits, experiences and other factors that may have contributed to their dependency. This knowledge and insight improves our ability to create a comprehensive plan that most effectively treats each individual at the John Ellison Community Recovery Center. These one-on-one sessions are common throughout our program, and while they allow our staff to make more strategic assessments, they are also tremendous therapy tools for our clients. Therapy in a one-on-one setting typically induces comfort and builds trust. Creating such an environment is vital, as it often helps a client share feelings and information that will be valuable during their recovery.

Family Counseling
There are many benefits of family therapy, especially when it’s used in an addiction treatment setting. Family therapy helps the members of a family unit heal and recover as a group. The therapeutic setting provides a safe space for everyone to learn how to adjust to a loved one’s recovery from addiction and mental illness. Family therapy sessions are also designed to help family members make specific, positive changes to improve the home environment as well as heal relationships within the family unit.1 Family therapy typically involves the substance abuser and at least one other member of the family. This could be a spouse, parent, significant other, sibling or any other individual who has a close relationship with the person in treatment.
Addiction Is A Disease
It has been nearly 70 years since the science and medical community have defined addiction as a chronic brain disease. Still today, many think it is a moral failing.
